A walk-in line for tire and smog shops

Nobody wants to spend a Saturday morning in a tire shop waiting room. With Next Up, drivers get in line from their phone, see the wait for a bay before they pull in, and get an alert when it's their turn.

How it works

1. Drivers get in line before they pull in

They scan the QR code on your sign or open your Next Up page, type a first name, and pick the service: a smog check, an oil change, new tires. If you list your shop on the Next Up map, drivers nearby can find you and see your wait first.

2. They show up close to their turn

Drivers who aren't at the shop yet say how far away they are, and their ticket tells them when it's about time to head over, so they aren't parked in your lot for an hour.

3. Techs call the next car

When a bay opens, a tech taps Call next and the driver who's waited longest is up. Their ticket turns red and tells them it's their turn.

Made for the service bay

"Your car is ready" on their phone

When the tech finishes, the driver's ticket says their car is ready. The ticket updates on its own while it's open, so they can wait at home, at work or next door instead of in your lobby.

A quick smog and a long alignment

Each service has its own time, so a smog check and an alignment count differently in the wait drivers see. You set the services and the minutes.

Fill the bays on a slow day

Drivers can follow your shop for free phone alerts. On a slow afternoon, tap Send a no-wait alert and followers hear there's no wait (or a short one) right now. It only goes out when a walk-in would wait 10 minutes or less, and at most about once a day per follower.
Pricing

$29 a month per tech working the bays (minimum 2), or $39 a month for a one-tech shop. No sign-up fee. Free for 30 days with no card needed, and you can cancel anytime from your Billing page.

Questions

How do drivers know their car is ready?

When the tech finishes, the driver's ticket shows their car is ready. The ticket updates on its own while the page is open, so they can check it from wherever they're waiting.

Do drivers need an app or an account?

No. They check in from their phone's browser with a first name and the service they need. Nothing to download and no password.

Can I stop people holding a spot from across town?

Yes. If your shop is on the Next Up map, you can take phone check-ins only from people within 1 to 25 miles of it. Drivers can also say how far away they are, and their ticket tells them when to leave.

What about drivers who just pull in?

Anyone signed in to your shop can add them to the line at the counter, in the order they arrived.

Does it write estimates or work orders?

No. Next Up runs your walk-in line and nothing else. Keep your shop software for estimates, invoices and parts.

What if a driver isn't there when we call?

Mark them as a no-show and call the next car. Their ticket tells them they missed their turn and can get a new ticket to rejoin.

What does it cost?

$29 a month per tech working the bays (minimum 2), or $39 a month for a one-tech shop. No sign-up fee, 30 days free with no card needed, and you can cancel anytime.
